 Business Philosophy
We hope everybody is well and we would like to express our special thanks to all of you for your courteous cooperation.
Business has begun to recover, and worry concerning the second bottom has decreased thanks to the economic measures and demand in developing countries. But the route to the independence recovery of business is still opaque because the tight job market and a severe income environment continues, and due to the anxiety of deflation and economic downturn of America and Europe.
In such a situation, it is regrettable to report that our group posted a deficit for the fiscal year ending on March 31, 2010. It was the first time after our establishment.
North America is the world greatest consumption market of an information home electric appliances with which our test media are used and Japan is the second and Europe is the third. If you take the growth of developing countries that is called Asian Shift into consideration, we think that the world economy will be made two poles in the future and the needs of the main buyers will shift from high-end products to general purpose products. That is to say, consumer needs will shift to the low value-added commodity. Considering the conformation change and the dullness of the speed of economic recovery, we should recognize that even if the economy recovers, it will not return to mass consumption society that advanced countries initiate like before.
In such a situation, after reducing the break-even point we will make a larger cost reform and promote a further business effort.
For the Test Media, we will promote the sales of Test BD(Blu-ray Disc) and try to secure earnings by commercializing new items and promoting sales of them.
For ALCERA Co.,Ltd. that is our subsidiary, we will aim at the expansion of the business scale by stabilizing the system of mass production and expanding the production of fire proof material etc. and by promoting the development of high-value-added commodity.
We made the decision to make a further management effort for the improvement of the earnings constitution and the corporate value. Now we would like to ask everybody for continuous support to our group. (May, 2010)
