We deeply apologize for the extremely poor results in fiscal year 2025.
It is true that the environment surrounding our company was unfavorable. However, we believe that our problem lies not only in the poor results themselves, but also in our low awareness of budget-to-actual management.
For example, in response to the increase in investment from Japan to the United States, triggered by the Trump tariffs and the need to secure investment funds, some planned domestic projects in Japan were suddenly postponed. We were not fully able to respond to such unexpected developments. We recognize this as a result of our low awareness of budget-to-actual management.
Our company is currently in a period of business transformation and is focusing on new businesses, mainly in new materials. Because of this, forecasting is difficult due to limited experience and a lack of historical data. That said, we strongly feel that we have lacked a sufficient sense of responsibility and commitment toward our annual budget and medium-term management plan, which are our starting points.
I believe it is important for all of us, including myself, to strengthen our management mindset, deepen communication with our customers, broaden our product offerings, improve our understanding of each situation, gather information thoroughly, and act quickly. By doing so, we will improve the accuracy of our budgets and actual results. In the process, each of us will learn and grow, and this will ultimately lead to the growth of the company.
To develop the next generation of our company’s leaders, this is an important issue that we must once again face from scratch. Although our time is limited, we are determined to move forward strongly.
